Kalu Dodol is a traditional sweet dish that is mainly seen served during festive seasons and auspicious occasions in Sri Lankan homes. It is a dark sticky dish that is made of a mouth watering combination of Kithul jaggery or treacle, rice flour and coconut milk while it is a time consuming and difficult dish to prepare unless you are thorough about it. Other ingredients such as cardamoms, cashews and raisins can or maybe added. The Southern province of Sri Lanka is quite well known when it comes to the production of Kalu Dodol.
